Winter Weather - Reminders and Requests

(Updated 1/10/2025)
Dear Homeowners of Riverwoods at New Hope:

The Winter weather has arrived and bestowed upon us snow and ice conditions.

Single Family Homes

A reminder that homeowners are responsible for clearing the snow from your driveways and sidewalks and please do not throw the snow into the street. When a snow event is forecast, please remove your vehicles from the street.

Common Sidewalks/Community Roads

The current rules of engagement with our contractor are:

  • If there is 2 inches or more of snow, the roads will be plowed and some areas (mostly intersections) treated with salt.
  • If there is 2 inches or more of snow the Association contractor will remove snow from the common sidewalks and treat with de-ice product if needed.
  • Anything below 2 inches will remain a “judgement call” by the contractor and a dedicated Board member.

George Kaufman Way (the rear entrance/exit) is not part of our community, it is managed by Village 2, and therefore not part of our snow contract.

Townhomes

The contractor will:

  • Plow the parking area
  • Clear snow from the mailbox areas.

The sidewalks at the townhomes should be cleared by homeowners.

The snowplow needs approximately 3 spaces open to clear an area.  When a snow event is forecast or occurring, please move your vehicles to the side opposite your homes, if possible, to assist the contractor in clearing the snow. The contractor cannot clear between vehicles, so please make sure you have a snow brush and shovel.

Please discuss with all occupants of your home that walking on the “pond” is not safe. Ice skating and other activities near/on the basin are not permitted. The fence around the basin is for your safety.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience!

Sincerely,

The Board of Directors

Riverwoods at New Hope Community Association.

Electric Vehicle Charging Rules - for Townhomes Only

The purpose of this rule is to establish guidelines for the installation and exclusive use for owners of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations, (EVCS) within the Madison Court and Rolling Hill Court townhouse sections of the Riverwoods at New Hope Community. By assigning one (1) designated reserved parking space per townhome for electric vehicle, (EV) charging and mandating a specific aesthetic, these guidelines ensure fair access, safety, and proper use of EV charging facilities while preserving the aesthetics and functionality of the common area parking lots. Additionally, the rules outline EVCS installation, operation, maintenance, and homeowner responsibilities, and the rights and obligations of the executive board of the Riverwoods Homeowners Association (HOA) regarding EV charging.

Complete rules can be found in Rules and Regulations
